Department of Geography, University of Leicester, 14th October 2011

Overview

The aim of this workshop was to present and discuss research in and around the Wicken Fen Nature Reserve of the National Trust. Some focus was on the work of the Centre of Ecology and Hydrology (CEH) Wallingford, and the University of Leicester (UoL) in Wicken Fen, featuring in particular the work of two PhD students from CEH and UoL on Carbon and Water fluxes. We wanted to consider drivers for fenland management and research, discuss existing knowledge, ongoing and future research in Wicken Fen and explore possible future collaborations in the area of Fenland research and management, also considering the wider landscape of East Anglia.
